Kenyérmezei csata
Digitális Legendárium teaser
The animations were created for a great Hungarian company, Digitális Legendárium. The company specializes in producing Hungarian historical educational films. The Kenyérmezei Battle animation was commissioned by a museum. My task included animating horses, soldiers, combat scenes, and death animations. Unfortunately, the full film is not public, only museum visitors can watch it at the museum. The animations were created using a layered animation method.
The Battle of Kenyérmezei took place on October 13, 1479, near Alkenyér (Zsibód), between the army of King Matthias I of Hungary and the marauding forces of the Ottoman Empire, supported by Transylvanian troops. The location is on the western side of Királyföld, near the border of Hunyad County, along the southern bank of the Maros River. The exact location is identifiable because the Transylvanian voivode had a chapel built at the battlefield, and its remnants survived until the 20th century.
The battle marked the most significant victory against marauding Ottoman Turks attacking Hungary, and following their defeat, they did not attempt a similar invasion in the year 1479.
